Self-Awareness: Support for Educators

Tuesday, January 19, 2021
4:30 PM ET

Self-awareness is having complete knowledge of your emotions, feelings, behavior, implicit biases, strengths, and weaknesses, and understanding how these items impact the people around you. For students, self-awareness benefits are developing resilience, improving classroom performance, and being prepared for life outside of school.

During this interactive session, educators will better comprehend self-awareness and engage in practical strategies to develop self-awareness in their students.

Self-Management: Support for Educators

Tuesday, February 16, 2021
4:30 PM ET

Self-management allows us to manage our emotions, thoughts, and behaviors effectively in different situations. Students who master this competency are better able to identify and achieve appropriate goals and aspirations. As such, we must be intentional about nurturing our students' abilities to self manage.

This interactive session will better define self-management and empower educators with strategies to cultivate self-management in their students.

Social Awareness: Support for Educators

Tuesday, March 16, 2021
4:30 PM ET

Social awareness is defined by the abilities to understand the perspectives of and empathize with others, including those from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and contexts. If we want our students to be successful in the melting pot in which we live, we should actively strengthen our students' social awareness and equip them with a blueprint to maintain this awareness.

During this interactive session, the facilitator will ensure that educators have the necessary strategies to develop this competency.

Responsible Decision-Making: Support for Educators

Tuesday, April 20, 2021

Responsible decision-making is identifying and carrying out ethical, constructive choices regarding personal and social behavior. In other words, it is the process of making positive, safe, and healthy choices that influence daily activities and, oftentimes, long-term outcomes.

This interactive session will highlight how responsible decision-making is informed by the other four competencies of SEL as well as engage participants in strategies that will foster this vital competency in their students.
