2021 - 2022 Treasure Chats

Treasure Chats are our version of TED Talks. These powerful discussions are produced by black males for the  betterment of black males.   Both educators and parents are invited to participate.

Each month, a different dynamic speaker will present on one of the Treasure Hunt topics. The Chats end with a Question & Answer session to ensure participants will have the opportunity to engage with each speaker.

Each Treasure Chat is $10. To register, access the registration button following each speaker's biography. Educators who would like their schools/districts to pay for one or all Treasure Chats can request the needed documents by submitting the form at the bottom of the page.

Devin Johnson is a 28-year-old fiber engineer employed by Zayo. Devin's biological father was incarcerated; therefore, uncles, cousins, grandfathers, and coaches were his father figures. One uncle encouraged him to explore the engineering field.

Having to be a father figure to his younger brother and playing basketball helped keep Devin out of trouble. Basketball also afforded him a network of men who understand the effects of growing up without a biological father. Devin can speak boldly about the challenges school-aged black males face when they are fatherless as well as share strategies to help young brothers overcome the difficulties.
